By Air, you can reach Bagdogra Airport and from there by Car to Darjeeling.
Train (Kolkata to Darjeeling distance) By train it’s well connected from Kolkata and the rest of India, But you have to get down at New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri station. Then by Car 2 & ½ hours drive. You may also avail Toy Train from NJP ( New Jalpaiguri) station to Darjeeling Stn.
Car:- Darjeeling is well connected by road from Siliguri/ New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Coach services are also available from Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus of Siliguri to various places in West Bengal.
you can visit Darjeeling throughout the year but it’s better to avoid the monsoon time months (mid-June to mid-September). the best time is October to early December and again February to 1st week of April.

Luxury Sleper coach/ Comfortable Pushback seat coaches and ordinary Bus services are available from Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal to Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus of Siliguri, from there you can avail small size mini-coaches and cars are available to reach Darjeeling. Long-distance big-size coaches are not available to reach Darjeeling directly from any place as of now, as the road to Darjeeling is steep and so many hairpin bends are there so small-size mini coaches or cars are good for a comfortable journey.
Most comfortable is by morning flight from Kolkata to Bagdogra or night train from Sealdah station, the most popular is Darjeeling mail, because of convenient timing and safe journey.
